Cannizaro House has a remarkable history — rebuilt after a devastating fire in 1900 and lovingly restored after serving as an officer’s convalescent home during the First World War, the building carries centuries of character within its walls. Moreover, its position within the 34 acres of Cannizaro Park, adjacent to Wimbledon Common and just a short walk from Wimbledon Village, gives it something most London wedding venues simply cannot offer — genuine parkland, open sky, and total peace, within twenty minutes of central London.
The Wedding Spaces
Hotel du Vin Wimbledon offers a beautifully considered collection of spaces that allow the wedding day to flow naturally from one moment to the next. Additionally, the outdoor gardens and grounds are licensed for ceremonies and can accommodate large celebrations — the open parkland setting is particularly spectacular in summer, with mature trees and manicured gardens creating a backdrop that feels nothing like a typical hotel wedding. Inside, the elegantly appointed private dining rooms, the Orangery with its panoramic views over the grounds, and the alfresco terrace for evening drinks all combine to make the day feel both grand and effortlessly relaxed. The venue is ideal for celebrations of between 15 and 200 guests, with dedicated wedding coordinators overseeing every detail.

Furthermore, the combination of the Georgian architecture, the parkland setting and the quality of light across the open grounds creates an extraordinary variety of backdrops within a single venue. The outdoor ceremony space is particularly beautiful — there are very few venues in London where you can photograph a ceremony of 200 people under open sky with that kind of natural backdrop. The evening light on the terrace and across the gardens is something else entirely.
