Pembroke Lodge Wedding is one of London’s most sought-after celebrations — and if you are planning your special day at this stunning Richmond Park venue, this guide covers everything you need to know. I have had the privilege of photographing weddings here and it remains one of my absolute favourite venues in the city.
What Makes Pembroke Lodge So Special
Pembroke Lodge is a magnificent listed Georgian mansion set in 13 acres of landscaped grounds, situated at the highest point of Richmond Park with spectacular views over the Thames Valley. Moreover, it is the only wedding venue within one of London’s Royal Parks — which makes it completely unique in the city. The combination of elegant Georgian architecture, sweeping parkland and those incredible views creates an unmatched backdrop for wedding photography.
The Two Wedding Suites
The Lodge has two wedding suites — The Russell Suite, recommended for up to 70 seated guests, and The Belvedere, recommended for up to 140 seated guests. Additionally, both suites are licensed for civil marriages and partnerships, including outdoor ceremonies under purpose-built oak gazebos. Whether you are planning an intimate celebration or a larger gathering, Pembroke Lodge accommodates both beautifully. The Russell Suite sits on the first floor of the Georgian wing, combining elegance with privacy and spectacular views from its large period windows.
Photography — Why It Is a Photographer’s Dream
As a London wedding photographer, what I love most about Pembroke Lodge is the extraordinary variety it offers for photography. Furthermore, just outside the grounds sit 2300 acres of classic English parkland, home to some 650 deer which roam freely in this tranquil setting. From the walled gardens and the pergola walkway to the open terraces with Thames Valley views, every corner of the venue offers something exceptional. The light in the gardens during late afternoon is particularly magical — golden, soft and perfect for timeless couple portraits.
A Real Wedding at Pembroke Lodge
I recently had the joy of photographing Rodceli and Adolfo’s wedding at Pembroke Lodge — a beautiful multicultural celebration with guests from Venezuela, Italy and the United States. The venue handled every detail with care, and the stunning grounds gave us an incredible variety of backdrops for the couple portraits. It was, without doubt, one of the most memorable weddings I have photographed in London. You can see the full gallery from their wedding day here.
