Hotel du Vin Wimbledon Wedding photography is always such a privilege, and Lynah and Thijs’s summer celebration at Cannizaro House was one of those days I will not forget in a hurry. Set within the 34 acres of Cannizaro Park in the heart of Wimbledon Village, this stunning Georgian manor was the perfect setting for a relaxed, joyful wedding with close family and friends who had travelled all the way from Belgium to celebrate with them.
Two Days, One Celebration
Lynah and Thijs chose to mark their wedding across two days — a civil ceremony on the 18th of July, followed by the main celebration on the 19th. Moreover, having the family already together from the evening before meant that by the time the wedding day itself arrived, the atmosphere was wonderfully relaxed and full of warmth. There was none of the nerves you sometimes see at a single-day wedding — just a couple completely at ease with each other and with everyone around them, ready to enjoy every moment.
The Ceremony at Cannizaro House
The outdoor ceremony at Hotel du Vin Wimbledon was one of the most beautiful I have photographed. Additionally, the grounds of Cannizaro House — with their mature trees, manicured gardens and open parkland — created a naturally spectacular setting for the vows. With around 200 guests seated outside under a clear July sky, the scale and energy of the day felt both grand and genuinely intimate at the same time.
The Reception
After the ceremony, the celebration moved seamlessly through the various spaces that Cannizaro House does so beautifully. Furthermore, the Orangery with its spectacular views over the grounds, the alfresco terrace for drinks in the evening light, and the elegantly appointed private dining rooms all played their part in making the day flow effortlessly from one moment to the next. The team at Hotel du Vin Wimbledon clearly take great pride in what they do, and it showed in every detail of the day.
What Made This Wedding So Special
Lynah and Thijs are two of the most natural, warm and genuinely joyful people I have ever had the pleasure of photographing. However, what really made this day stand out was the sense of community — a large group of Belgian family and friends, many of whom had not seen each other in some time, coming together to celebrate two people they clearly adore. The emotion in the room during the toasts was something else entirely.
