London Pre Wedding Shoot photography by Mar Mendez. Chantal and Tom’s pre-wedding session was one of those mornings I will not forget in a hurry. We started with a coffee at 7am, standing in front of Big Ben with the city still quiet around us, laughing and getting to know each other before the camera even came out. They told me about their wedding coming up in just two weeks, the nerves, the excitement, the little details they were still figuring out. By the time we started shooting, it felt less like a photoshoot and more like a morning with friends.
Why a London Pre Wedding Shoot Is Always a Good Idea
A pre-wedding shoot is one of the best decisions a couple can make before their wedding day. It gives you the chance to get comfortable in front of the camera, to connect with your photographer, and to create a set of images that are entirely yours. No formal schedule, no guests, just the two of you and the city. For Chantal and Tom, it was also a beautiful way to celebrate their love story in the place where it all began.
Westminster at Sunrise
We began at Westminster, shooting along the Victoria Embankment with the Houses of Parliament rising behind them. The early morning light on the Thames was extraordinary, soft, golden and completely undisturbed. This is a location I never tire of photographing, and every couple brings something new to it. Chantal and Tom brought elegance, warmth and a lot of laughter.
A Creative Session Across the City
What made this session so special was how it moved through the city like a story. From the grand architecture of Westminster to the atmosphere of a classic London pub, and finally to the underground platform at Baker Street where the motion of a passing train blurred behind them as they kissed. It was cinematic, spontaneous and completely them.
One of my favourite details of the day was the “Wedding Daily Times” newspapers. I designed and printed them myself, but Chantal and Tom had sent me their love story by email beforehand so I could include it inside. Seeing their faces when they read it for the first time was one of those moments I live for as a photographer.
